Eiffage Énergie Systèmes installs a new patient call intercom system in a CCAS care home in Clermont-Ferrand.

Clermont-Ferrand’s Communal Centre for Social Action (CCAS) has commissioned Resintel to completely renovate the patient call intercom system in the Alexandre Varenne care home for elderly people. Resintel is one of Eiffage Énergie Systèmes’ subsidiaries specializing in LV installation.

Eiffage Énergie Systèmes installs a new patient call intercom system in a CCAS care home in Clermont-Ferrand.

Our staff are to install a new patient call system in the home’s 86 rooms, replacing the current system. They will change the call buttons at the head of the beds, the door blocks allowing the care assistants to signal their presence in the room and the alarm pull cords in each bathroom. They will also install a new call panel enabling staff to identify at a glance the room number of a resident who calls on them.

“Our assignment was to replace the existing, obsolete system with an Ascom device connected to the DECT mobile phones used by the staff, while using the existing cabling to cause as little inconvenience as possible to the residents and limit visible damage to the rooms (preservation of the wallpaper, mouldings, etc.)," explains Resintel business manager Xavier Bachot.

Our experts will also place radio beacons at the various entrances to the building, to prevent any risk of runaways. The care home residents are all equipped with bracelets fitted with an alarm button enabling them to report a fall or illness. This highly secure device (held on the wrist by a rivet) has an anti-tear system that triggers an alert when the bracelet is no longer in contact with the skin or when a resident approaches the establishment exit alone. The staff, alerted in real time via DECT, can then coordinate to intervene quickly and bring the resident to safety.
