At the heart
of major transport infrastructure

Major transport infrastructure represents an opportunity and is a source of attractiveness for the regions. These major projects change cities and improve mobility. However, they are complex projects to design and conduct: work in dense urban environments or over large areas, a demanding regulatory context, multiple parallel activities, etc.
As a veritable system integrator, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes supports the design of major road, motorway and rail transport infrastructure projects.

Supporting the renewal of the national rail network

Railway network Paris-Lyon par Eiffage Énergie Systèmes

With 2,700 km of high-speed line, France has one of Europe’s largest railway networks. Furthermore, the priority given to clean transport in recent years helps strengthen the place of the train. New lines have been commissioned and older lines are being upgraded.
Eiffage Énergie Systèmes has demonstrated all its expertise through these high-speed lines. Our teams were involved in the construction of the Atlantic high-speed line. This new 214 km line was our largest project, managed by Eiffage, to date with 240 engineering structures, including 11 viaducts and many different types of electrical equipment.
In July 2020, we were also chosen to upgrade an existing line: the South-East high-speed line, between Paris and Lyon. This is a major project as it involves replacing the signage of this line, the most heavily used in France with 45 million passengers per year.

Motorways projects - Eiffage Energie Systèmes

Road transport now accounts for 80% of transport in France. Motorways must increasingly meet the safety and comfort requirements of their users, while adapting to new mobility solutions.
Eiffage Énergie Systèmes works on behalf of fast lane operators/managers, road tunnel operators/managers, operators/managers of major toll bridges, public transport agencies and companies specialising in the road sector. Our teams are experts in traffic management-support systems and operational support systems. On the Avenir motorway linking Dakar to Diamniadio, the teams designed and supplied all of the fixed operating equipment.

Eiffage Énergie Systèmes is part of the Grand Paris Express project

Grand Paris Express Eiffage Énergie Systèmes

Île-de-France is home to one of Europe’s most ambitious railway projects with the creation of Grand Paris Express. This project includes the creation of four new metro lines and the extension of two other lines by 2030 in order to connect the neighbouring suburbs to the capital more easily.
Eiffage Énergie Systèmes is a key partner in this transformation process. Together with Vinci Énergies, we will build the electrical infrastructure of lines 15 south, 16 and 17, which extend more than 85 km. We are also building the railway tunnels and working on the development of several stations that form part of Grand Paris Express. Finally, our teams, in a consortium with Engie Solutions, are responsible for the construction of the tunnel ventilation, smoke extraction and decompression system on lines 16 and 17.

FOCUS

Extensive expertise in the ventilation of underground spaces

The ventilation of underground spaces and tunnels is a key element of these major transport infrastructure projects. Since the devastating fire in the Mont Blanc tunnel in 1999, fire regulations have been put in place. The stakes are extremely high, as thanks to ventilation and smoke extraction systems, human safety is guaranteed by optimising air quality.

Since 2014, we have chosen to develop this activity in order to offer innovative solutions to tackle potential risks. Our multi-business approach and our ability to integrate systems enable us to secure these structures on a turnkey basis and make sure that they comply with standards following renovation work.
We know how to deal with the constraints specific to these exceptional sites: working at night, modifying sites in operation without interrupting traffic, etc. This is the case of the North-Midi railway junction in Belgium, for example, and our work on metro systems, as in Lyon, on lines A, B and C. For each project, we implement appropriate solutions to ensure optimal performance and participate fully in the new mobility solution.
