Clemessy connects a ground-mounted solar park with 23,688 photovoltaic panels in the Cantal, for Générale du Solaire
Renewable electricity producer Générale du Solaire is active throughout the value chain in France and abroad, and has undertaken to install a new solar park in Saint-Mary-le-Plain (15). The electricity package for this contract was entrusted to our Clemessy experts.
Our teams in charge of connecting up the photovoltaic solar park in Saint-Mary-le-Plain dug trenches and then laid 10 km of HV and LV alternating current (AC) cables, copper cable and TPC cable sheaths for the telecom connection and the passage of direct current (DC). As they were working on rough terrain with water sources, our specialists used a rock breaker and a pump to remove water from the trenches.
"Once this first phase of the project has been completed, we will go on to connect up the 23,688 photovoltaic panels in the autumn. We will then have to roll out 80 km of DC cables and connect 43 LV AC cables to the four transformer stations," explained project manager Thomas Nicollet.
Once Saint-Mary-le-Plain solar park is operational, it will have a total capacity of 11 MWp, enough to cover the energy needs of 4,536 households (based on a consumption of 3,000 kWh/year per household excluding heating), while saving 870 tonnes of CO2 per year.
