Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and Entech join forces to create two 400 MWh energy storage plants.
Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, in partnership with Entech, has been awarded a contract for the construction of two battery energy storage system (BESS) plants in France. This major project, with a total capacity of 200 MW / 400 MWh, represents a significant step forward for the integration of renewable energies and the stability of the national electricity grid.
An ambitious project at the heart of the energy transition
This contract provides for the construction of two storage plants of 100 MW / 200 MWh each, located precisely in the Oise and Indre departments, with commissioning scheduled for the first half of 2027. They will be connected to the 225 kV HTB transmission grid operated by RTE.
Our roles and responsibilities:
- Eiffage Énergie Systèmes will be in charge of project management as well as the "Balance of Plant" (BoP) on-site works, including civil and electrical engineering, and the construction of the HTB substation.
- Entech, a specialist in storage and intelligent management of renewable energies, will be responsible for the technical direction of the projects and the software part of the installations.
These strategic infrastructures will also be accompanied by operation and maintenance contracts, guaranteeing their performance and durability.
Grid stability and integration of renewable energies
Battery electricity storage is an essential component of the energy transition. These systems optimize the integration of renewable energies into the French energy mix by stabilizing the grid in the face of fluctuations in electricity supply and demand. They strengthen the resilience of the electricity system and actively contribute to the energy balance of our country.
This project illustrates Eiffage Énergie Systèmes' deep commitment to building a more sustainable energy future and supporting France in its decarbonization objectives. It is further proof of our ability to innovate and deploy concrete solutions for environmental performance.
