Eiffage Énergie Systèmes signs its first PEP sheet and joins BlueOn for a firm commitment to the environment.
Eiffage Énergie Systèmes has published its first ever Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), known as a PEP (Profil Environnemental Produit) in the sector. This initiative was created for SM@RT FLOW, a product developed by Meci, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes' specialist brand for transactional metering and analysis. as part of our commitment to environmental transparency and the accurate measurement of our equipment's carbon footprint.
Meci has been designing and manufacturing metering products for over 50 years. All stages of design and assembly are carried out in-house, with particular attention to controlling the energy consumption of our equipment, which is often used in environments without a power supply.
Meci has been committed to eco-design for several years and wanted to go further in understanding the environmental impact of its products by creating a PEP for the SM@RT FLOW connected gas volume converter.
SM@RT FLOW is a connected volume converter designed for transactional metering of all types of gas, which can be installed in potentially explosive atmospheres or on isolated sites. Its ultra-low power consumption design gives it a battery life of over 10 years. It is used in particular in demanding industrial environments, such as renewable gas injection stations.
The PEP or Product Environmental Profile is a Type III environmental declaration based on a comprehensive life cycle analysis, in accordance with ISO 14025. It provides rigorous quantification of a product's environmental impact, from the extraction of raw materials to the end of its life.
This achievement is a world first in the field, with the publication of the very first PEP sheet dedicated to a professional electronic product.
This approach is more than just regulatory compliance. It is in line with Eiffage Énergie Systèmes' low-carbon strategy and helps to enhance the transparency expected by customers and partners in the sector. SM@RT FLOW is now listed on the BlueOn marketplace, which brings together buyers and sellers around reliable and enforceable environmental data.
